JavaLand 2016 – Heuser Software AG was there

Oliver Heuser gave a talk at JavaLand 2016 about practical solutions for the Internet of Things.

In his lecture, Oliver Heuser addresses the question of how different wireless sensor protocols and the associated devices can be integrated for uniform operation. Ultimately, sensors and actuators are becoming increasingly complex. The market is growing and so are the possible combinations of devices with each other.

JavaLand opens its doors from March 8th to 10th, 2016 in Phantasialand in Brühl. Oliver Heuser's lecture will take place on March 8th at 2:00 p.m. in room Quantum 3.

Under the title “The convergence of heterogeneous sensor protocols”, Oliver Heuser addresses experts and focuses on generally valid protocol semantics, their setup and the resulting solution approaches.

He presents a solution that currently covers the areas of e-health, smart cities and environments, home and building automation as well as M2M in general.
This is implemented via a powerful embedded Java subsystem running on an OSGi -Stack based. OSGi is a hardware-independent and dynamic software platform.

The subsystem then operates different protocols centrally and calls them depending on the application. To do this, the various protocol standards (e.g. Zigbee and Z-Wave) and the proprietary manufacturer implementations based on them are coordinated and fed to an end device.
One focus is on the interaction of all data to be sent and received to form a data stream. This is then sent to the end device in order to visualize or control it.

The solution is based on self-developed, high-performance embedded Java messaging service APIs (eJMS). It is optimal for operating different protocol stacks transactionally and simultaneously on ARM-based embedded systems. The API also makes it possible to combine various embedded systems into a virtual cluster. It assigns protocol-specific sensor actuators and distributes the load. The system enables any expansion of sensor implementations from different manufacturers and combines, filters, aggregates and correlates the data.

JavaLand is a trade fair that is taking place for the third time in 2016.
